Discovering NYC's Best Kept Secret: The Wallace Hotel

There truly aren't enough words to describe how impressed I was with our experience at The Wallace Hotel. I've stayed at countless hotels in New York City over the past 15 years. I've stayed in all different neighborhoods, in every type of hotel, private apartments...you name it! And the majority of the places have been lovely. But the Wallace, it is SPECIAL.

Tucked into a peaceful neighborhood on Manhattan's Upper West Side, The Wallace Hotel is a short walk to a main subway station (72nd St.) with subway lines (1,2,3) that will get you anywhere you want to go in the city. Upon entering the hotel, you are warmly greeted not only by the hospitable staff, but by the luxury and sophistication of the beautiful fireplace and lobby.

Heading upstairs to our room on the 8th floor, we were blown away by the size, warmth and tranquility of our room. Our One-Bedroom King Suite featured a wet bar with a Nespresso machine and mini-fridge, a comfortable living room with large windows that flooded our room with natural light (and sunshine!) during the daytime, and a separate bedroom where I slept better than I have in ages! It was quiet and dark, two things that are very difficult to come by in NYC hotels. Our room quite literally felt like a retreat from the chaos of NYC. There was ample closet space in both rooms to store luggage and belongings out of the way. I especially loved the upgraded touches of being able to control lighting (dimmers), thermostat and electric window shades at various places in the room.

In the evening, the lobby and bar transform into a beautiful space to enjoy a cocktail and a light bite. Several nights a week, The Wallace Lobby Bar turns into a lively neighborhood music venue where it behooves you to have a reservation. The music is top notch and the setting is unmatched.
